We’re into air roasting and that makes a huge difference!
Most coffee is roasted using the drum roasting technique. Basically, Coffee beans swirl around a barrel which turns over gas heating that heats up the drum and this heat is then applied to the surface of the Coffee beans. There aren’t many ways to control the roast quality and each roast batch is therefore different every time.
Air roasting uses a steady stream of hot air to lift the beans and heat them to the desired temperature in a very consistent way. The Coffee beans are suspended on the hot air and evenly swirl, producing a very consistent roast which is smooth as silk. Surprisingly, not many roasters use this method.
We roast your order fresh. The majority of coffee is pre-roasted and sitting on shelves going stale. You probably know that oxygen and light are the enemy of fresh coffee and diminish the freshness of the coffee bean. So place your order and we’ll get roasting right away.
Coffee beans are at their best 4-6 days after being roasted. This allows time for CO2 to leave the beans and the sugars to develop over time. You will receive the coffee at its premium drinking point!
